“Ilaria Alpi” journalistic television award - 2008 Call for Entries >> bando07

The Award was born in
1995 from an idea of the cultural association Comunità Aperta in Riccione (Rimini – AdriaticCoast). It is dedicated to the memory of Ilaria Alpi, a reporter of Rai (Italian public broadcaster) that was killed in Somalia on March 20, 1994 together with the freelance cameraman Miran Hrovatin. The Award, which has come to its 14th edition, is one of the most important venues for discussion and reflection on investigation journalism in Italy.

Ilaria Alpi performed her profession as journalist with unusual dedication and ethical values. Today, that type of journalism should be looked at, promoted and enhanced as a reference.

The Journalistic Television Award dedicated to Ilaria Alpi was born to acknowledge and promote commitment to television reports on social issues.
