The competition is open to special press reports and enquiries for
the television about civil and social commitment
(solidarity, non-violence, justice).

There will be different sections A, B,
C, D, E, as follows:
a. Press reports broadcasted on
TV news and special features (max. duration 4) - € 1500
b. Press reports broadcasted on other TV
programs different from TV news
(duration between 4 and 12) - € 1500
c. Press reports broadcasted on other TV
programs different from TV news
(min duration 12) - € 1500
d. Press reports broadcasted on local
and regional TVs - € 1500
e. Miran Hrovatin Prize for cameramen
- € 1500
As for the sections A, B, C,
D, for journalists of Italian broadcasters, the reports will
be judged for their journalistic value. The lack of sophisticated equipment
will not be a selective factor.
As for the section E for cameramen, the reports will be
judged for the proposed images.

Youth Prize for all those shots made by journalists under 32 years old.
No subscription is necessary because the journalists 32 and under
years old taking part to the competition automatically participate
to Youth Prize. The Prize will be awarded by a jury entirely
composed of high school students partecipating to the
"Penso Positivo" project of the Province of Rimini.
Youth Prize’s amount is € 1000.

Europe Prize for European journalists. The European TV
press offices or the journalists themselves can send to the Prize
Organization up to three TV reportages about social subjects.
The film must be in their original language with English subtitles,
and their duration must be minimum 12 Europe Prize’s amount is € 2000.

Production Prize for Italian reportages lasting more than 12
and never broadcasted from national broadcasters. (The jury of the Prize
will be composed by Italo Moretti, Ilaria Alpi Prize’s jury’s President,
by the Rai News 24 Director Roberto Morrione, the President of the
Emilia Romagna Journalist Association Claudio Santini and Paolo
Serventi Longhi, General secretary of the Italian Press Federation).
The prize amount is € 9000 and the broadcasting by RAI NEWS 24.

Critics Prize. A group of critics will freely bring five
special surveys each to the jury’s attention. These reports can
be also made by journalists not participating to the competition,
but the winner will be excluded from the competition in other sections.
The report that will receive the highest number of recommendations
will get the Critics Prize of € 1500.

Prize for the students of the Advanced Schools of Journalism.
The competition is open to all the students (single or in group) who have realized
journalistic reports in line with the topics of the Ilaria Alpi Television
Journalism Prize. A declaration of the enrolment of the students
at the School is required.
The broadcasting of the reports is not necessary. The Prize is of € 1000.

All the reports taking part to the competition must be
made after January 2003, and must have been already broadcasted except
for the Production Prize and the Schools of Journalism Prize.

Only the shots arrived by April 24th 2004
at midday will be accepted .
No subscription fee is needed. The works in competition must present
a brief biography of the author, their report’s section and a short summary
of the content. Otherwise, they can be sent with the form downloadable
from the web site:
http://www.ilariaalpi.it/premio/.

Each competitor can present no more than three shots, recorded
on different tapes. It is also possible to send more works not competing,
that could be projected during the event. The works given by the
editorial offices will be accepted as well.

Prizes will be awarded according to the unquestionable judgement
of the jury, that will be presided by Italo Moretti
and composed by Ettore Mo, Luca Ajroldi, Alessandro Banfi,
Claudio Brachino, Angela Buttiglione, Emilio Carelli,
Antonio Di Bella, Emilio Fede, Roberto Fontolan, Giulio Giustiniani, Giovanna Lio,
Mauro Mazza, Giovanni Mazzoni, Paolo Meucci,Clemente Mimun,
Sandro Ruotolo, Romano Tamberlich and, for the Miran Hrovatin Prize, the cameraman
Stefano Paolillo and Gianfranco Rados.

The reached works will not be given back and will be collected in the archive of
the Ilaria Alpi Observatory with conservative, educational, and popular aim
(reference and loan). The journalistic reportage could be edited in
miscellanies with education, seminar or study purposes. In addition short
frames could be used in a television program/show edited and produced by the
Ilaria Alpi Prize and broadcasted from local or national broadcasting services
(TV) with reporting and promotional aims. The finalist reportage will also
be transmitted during the days of the Prize and some frames will be used for
the web site www.ilariaalpi.it.
The Journalistic Television Prize Ilaria Alpi will take place in Riccione
on June 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th 2004..
